The national institute of open schooling (n.o.s) was set up as national open school in 1989 by the ministry of human resource development ,government of India , as as autonomous organization .it provide educational opportunities to the persons who could not study due to any reason ,but now wishes to study and further and make their life better for tomorrow .the mission of NIOS is to provide education to all the people specially the WOMEN and GIRLS, rural youth ,working men and women.
NOIS also provide special fees concession to SC/ ST ,and different DISABLED PERSON so that they may carry out their study , with the help of the eleven regional centers and about two thousand eight hundreds(2800) accredited institute(AIs) and accredited vocational institution (AVIs) commonly known as study centre in INDIA,NEPAL and MIDDLE EAST. For academic courses, which is available by taking admission ONLY THROUGH AIs of NIOS.
NIOS is started a revolution with the motto “reach out and reach all” ,NIOS follows the freedom to learn either ,what to learn ,how to learn,when to learn, and when to appear for the examination is to be decided by the learners. With out any of the restriction of time ,place and pace of learning.
